Wedding Days

Thursday through Sunday last week were wedding days. I found myself somewhere in the office, rushing for brother's solemnization. On Saturday, we marched for the bride's side wedding event and on Sunday, his last wedding day is the day that you gently scrape the nasi minyak and chocolate cake.

Seeing your brother getting married and you happily wish him a happy speech, wedding days were a treat to all of us.

Your alarm wakes you up and you are nervous helping the lucky one getting married.  The women were busy helping with the food and the men were busy doing their thing, smoking pipes and wat nots in the hall.
I went to organize my three baju kurungs. Pulled out a scarf to match for the dusty pink brother's solemnization ceremony. The other two scarfs were half moon hehe. "Colours matched? Checked!"

It was a beautiful moment during the solemnization seeing one of your family members is passing a phase in his life to become a husband. Regardless how tiring it was, wedding days bring out the best in everyone. You get to see a lot of people helping in and out and that shows love.

When I look at my brother, seeing him and all of our childhood memories playing at the back of my mind. He was my bicycle partner, bunga api partner in crime since I was five I could not remember. Dedicating my three days were and honor to all of us to help you too. Anyway,  congratulations to you and everyone who is getting married.

How time flies by.

Coffee

Two weeks have been all about coffee.

I was a previous caffeine-hater becoz alot of people say that coffee is bad for your health. Mother never recommends coffee to all of us since she was raised living with a cup of tea every morning by her parents and they are of course whom I called my atuk and wan.

Milk tea, plain tea and the sweet fruit tea. She is a very classical lady and I believe until now she is still a big fan of tea. Always serves her lovely guests coming at home with tea.

Kewujudan kopi di rumah sangatlah mengejutkan kami semua dan kopi adalah seperti sesuatu yang 'rare' di situ.

But I came to love coffee by staying up late and in need of some booster for my body. I feel that there are times there would be no coffee for the whole week in order to stay away from the caffeine and there would be a moment saying, "Coffee please?" to the cheerful kid in coffee-shop-around-the-corner, who always write my name with a big smile, thank you. Caffeine hater to a caffeine lover, perhaps?

Now I'm not that classical type like my mother, am I? Hehe. So herewith is a very short video of a good barista, a friend of mine drawing a leave pattern on top of our coffee. It's easy by the way.

So, have some coffee but not so much, do drink a lot of plain water to get that skin glowing ladies and gentlemen.

Family Means More

It was a good morning when you wake up with no alarm right?

To say that you have had a good night sleep before was indeed rarely said among those who have the needs to multi task their everyday chores be it our fathers, mothers, students and workers. We all know these days that there are many people multi-tasking in their lives to find good experience and means of rezeki. Waking up early during fajr is good, it is such a golden hour.

These days when we sat down for mengopi moment, often I have heard my friends sayings, "Payah nak hidup kalau bergantung pada satu kerja", indeed it was true. But there are some saying that working with one job requires one to focus on their current tasks. Focus is good. Having so many things around you sometimes tend to make you drift elsewhere and not focus.

Our teacher at school convey that sometimes when there are so many things around him makes him sleeping and mengigau at night. Is that possible? I have never been there. Hehe. Well, he done that. Eventually. Indeed, he was a successful man. Good businesses flying around him. Involved with photography. Creating ideas for clients. Lecturing. A daddy at home and a wonderful teacher to us. To him, everything is possible when you do what you love and love what you do. That moment he said, that is when good business flying around him. His motivation is such an inspiration and as a friend I would love to extract his good advice to this small blog and share it with you kids.

Having a one day holiday during this week is such a relieve. Initially, I'm thinking of something like cleaning my car. But brother came up to me and said he wants to treat us. Yay! We have had a Chillis momento with the families last Tuesday. The brother is getting married soon and I will be looking at him like, "Whois the lucky girl?" *in a teasing way* Hehe. Well, your brother is your brother. Always annoyed you to the point like you want to give him a trophy of the world's most annoying brother. I have always lost my biscuits in the refridgerator. Thanks to him tho for not ganti balik!

But he is such a gentleman untuk ganti balik all my biscuits with triple dipper chillis luv u bro.
Despite of the classes, work and having focus like the teacher advice, that was a good one day of holiday and we all looking forward for Friday. Oh yes, here is a piano cover version of 'A Thousand Years' Christina Perri by Aldy Santos. Enjoy.

Resipi Pavlova Sedap

Pavlova... is the most easy peasy dessert anyone can do! This dessert was inspired by the New Zealanders and it really takes you 15 mins to master the methods (by researching thru the internet and You-Tubing) and the result is voila!!

Just follow through.

INGREDIENTS
Two main important ingredients to make Pavlova are the: (a) meringue and (b) topping.

(a) Meringue

     - 4 white eggs (no egg yolk, take out the yellow part)
     - 170 gm of castor sugar
     - 1 teaspoon of vinegar
     - 1 teaspoon of cornflour
     - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

(b) Whip Cream Topping

     - 250 gm of whip cream
     - Sour fruits (strawberry, kiwi, grapes - anything that comes with sourly taste)

METHOD

Oven
Pre heat oven to 160°C.

Meringue
-Whisk/mix (electric mixer) all four egg whites until foamy in a super clean dry bowl.
-Add sugar gradually with 1 tablespoon at a time. Increase the speed each time adding the 1 tablespoon.
-Beat well the meringue until it becomes glossy and super thick! In Malay, we called it pukul sampai bertanduk. Bertanduk means it doesn't fall of to your head if you turn it upside down, ahah.

Tanduk sangat

-Add cornflour + vinegar and vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
-Next, draw a circle on the baking paper and place it on the baking tray.
-Spoon meringue onto the baking paper. Tips for spooning meringue:

   * for a high meringue, draw a small circle with a 16 diametres wide
  * for a low meringue, draw a circle with 24 diametres wide. You will get an average and flat pavlova.

 -Bake meringue until 30-40 minutes
-After the meringue is baked, let it in the oven for awhile.

Topping
-Beat the whip cream by using mixer.
-Let the topping topped with all the fruits above.

Enjoy n Selamat Mencuba!

Best Acoustics Cover

I was being influenced by some of the kids at school.

Comfy Style - Shirt: Voir, T-Shirt: Cotton-On, Scarf: Sg. Wang

You know that one friend who loves to listen to YouTube while eating dinner? This friend is such a multi-tasker, I supposed. Watching acoustics cover on YouTube, listening to our lols conversation and then eat dinner. Now let me sum up.

Watch acoustics cover on YouTube  + eat dinner + 'pasang telinga' to our conversations.

Students, they are very good at multi-tasking. Anyway, here I would love to share too, though some of my subscribed acoustic covers. These singers are talented.

Enjoy!
